International Olympic Committee

(2013 – to date)

  • Advisory support to current Olympic Organising Committees
  • Member of Evaluation Commission for the summer Games of 2020, 2024/28 and winter Games 2022.
  • Specialist advisor to Future Hosts department for winter Games 2026 and summer Games 2032
  • Drafted IOC Sustainability Strategy (first issued 2017) and subsequent updates and progress reports
  • Developed introductory guides to sustainability in the Sustainability Essentials series
  • Developed various internal guidance documents and content for sustainability sections of Host Contract – Operational Requirements and requirements for interested parties progressing toward being Future Hosts
  • Conducted Internal Audit of the IOC’s Sustainability Management System (ISO 20121:2012)

Premier League

(2021 to date)

  • Led initial development of Premier League’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy, including materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement
  • Supported in-house sustainability training workshops and content for external initiatives: e.g. Premier League Primary Stars, Premier League Charitable Foundation’s Capability Code of Practice for Club Community Organisations
  • Continual support to Head of Sustainability on finalising strategy and advising on its implementation
  • Review of sustainability policies of Premier League clubs and drafting related guidance notes

Lawn Tennis Association (LTA)

(2021 to date)

  • Advised on development and implementation of the LTA’s Environmental Sustainability Plan
  • Oversaw work on carbon footprinting and carbon reduction plan for the LTA
  • Advised on and reviewed sustainability initiatives at the National Tennis Centre, Nottingham Tennis Centre and the Cinch Championships at The Queen’s Club.

World Rugby

(2021 to date)

  • Co-developed World Rugby’s Environmental Sustainability Plan 2030
  • Advised on various follow up initiatives
  • Co-developed sustainability framework for Rugby World Cup, England 2025 and environmental elements of impact evaluation for the event.

NEOM Sport Sector

(2023-2024)

  • Led development of sustainability strategy for the NEOM Sport Sector, Saudi Arabia
  • Reviewed sustainability programme of NEOM Beach Games 2023 and 2024

Formula 1

  • Supported development of Sustainability Strategy for Formula 1.
  • Oversaw development of package of implementation tools:
    • Sustainability Management System
    • Practical sustainability guide for F1 race promotors
  • Internal audit and auditor training for ISO 20121 sustainability management system

  • Specialist sustainability adviser to sustainability teams in Supreme Committee and local organising committee, Qatar 2022 (with Sustainability Excellence LLC).

    • Worked with creative agency to develop sustainability themed pavilion for Facebook (now Meta) in Davos at the 2020 World Economic Forum
    • Supported Smyle on development of its bespoke sustainability offer – “Cycle by Smyle”

    World Economic Forum

    (2015-2018)
    • Developed sustainability plan for the Forum’s Annual meeting
    • Supported development of Sustainability Management System, which was third party certified to ISO 20121:2012 in 2018
    • In parallel, I advised the Forum’s principal logistics partner, Publicis Live, on developing their own sustainability programme. They also achieved ISO 20121 certification in January 2018

    Sustainable Waste Management plan for Hajj

    (2019 – 2021) I provided strategic advice through Gannett Fleming Inc (USA) and the King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia) for the Municipality of Makkah, who host the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. The mission was to find sustainable solutions to managing the large quantities of solid waste arising from the peak period of the Hajj, in which up to 4 million pilgrims participate.
